We have recently sourced and successfully tested a motor and variable speed controller suitable for use on wood lathe motors, more especially for the Teknatool 1 hp model.

The system works on normal 230v household supply.

We think this may be of interest to the serious wood turning fraternity as it is a real time saver for those turners who are more than part timers!

Our offer

• This is an industrial type frequency controller and not the common variable voltage type .
• High torque is delivered throughout the speed range.
• Speed adjustment is made by the simple turn of a knob!
• Speed range is from 300rpm to 1800 rpm.
• The controller is wired to the motor with two metres of cable, and a two metre lead and plug from the controller to fit into your normal 230v house hold supply.

1 x 0.75kw 3 phase CEG M80 frame industrial motor complete with Teknatool type flange mount . This will fit directly where the blue CEG single phase motor fits.

• The motor and controller are tested and set up prior to despatch.
• This combination of controller and motor has less vibration than the single phase option!
• The motor is set up to rotate anti clock wise, unless reversing switch is fitted..

A RF filter (in line) arrangement is available @ $130* should it be required.

The controller is suitable only for three phase 230v Delta connected motors.

No attempt should be made to fit the controller to an existing single phase motor.
